“Immigrants; We get the job done.” The story of Alexander Hamilton is an incredible one; Lin-Manuel Miranda’s telling of this story is even more incredible. Hamilton was by far the most popular Broadway musical this year and certainly has the potential to become legendary.

Alexander Hamilton is a Caribbean immigrant, (totally representing the male La Bella Life) who came to America with a dream to change the world. He was an ambitious young man with a lot of ideas who at times was envied for his tenacity and drive. Aaron Burr is the man who helped Hamilton learn the ropes of politics in America and he was also the man that killed him. Hamilton learned the ropes so well that he eventually became a major politician. He worked under George Washington to defeat the British, became secretary of treasury and ended up writing most of the Constitution. The contributions that Alexander Hamilton made to America are great and many but are very much underrated.

Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton rap battling for the crown! Lol

Lin-Manuel constructed a modern, comedic, yet heart-wrenching play with musical numbers that’ll knock your socks off. Lin has a knack for making great music as many of the songs have even been covered by major label artist on the Hamilton Mixtape. Not only were the songs amazing; the story was amazing too! Lin helped to bridge the gap between a timeless story from the 1700’s about an American dream and helped relate to the 21st century. It is a beautiful story whether it was set 300 years ago or today and I’m so glad I got to see it!

I hear tickets are sold out until next year but if you can find some way to squeeze in there, please do! Hamilton the Musical deserves every accolade and award it has received because it’s simply a damn good play!
