I am a stickler for eye shadow but as of late I am only interested in a bold lip color.Preferably a bold matte. I love satins, cream sheens, and the occasional gloss but mattes are my first love.

There is a trick (or at least I like to think so) to applying matte lipstick. Although you get a smooth finish matte can be dry so proper lip moisturization is necessary. Here is a regimen that I use to ensure there are no scales and a smooth lip. I get rid of dead and/ or dry skin my lip using an exfoliate. I use an exfoliate from Mary K which I still use because I want to finish the bottle. I now use a lip scrub from Lush I love it is has different scents and flavors to choose from. Depending on the last time you exfoliated it is necessary to exfoliate prior to application of the lipstick. Exfoliate, then use a moisturizer a thin layer (it is imperative to remove excess you do not want the matte to turn into a creamsheen or regular lipstick and bleed) after a few min to ensure proper drying apply your lip pencil or lip liner to precisely cover outer lip and flawless coverage. I buy or make sure I always have a liner compatible to the lipstick I purchase.
